Conditions and Procedures for Affiliation as an ISGS Hub

1. How to apply for affiliation

1. We kindly request that any group wishing to have the status of a Hub of the ISGS submit an application to the ISGS Board.

2. The application should include the following :

a.     A statement of the desire to affiliate, based on broad adherence to the aims and scope of the ISGS.

b.     The names of the group’s coordinator(s) and information on how to contact them (notably institutional affiliation[s] and email addresses). We ask that the coordinator(s) (minimally one of them) be paid-up members of the ISGS for the duration of their service as coordinator(s) of the Hub.

c.     A statement on the group’s objectives.

d.     The target audience of the group’s (planned) activities.

e.     Information on its recent and/or planned activities.

f.      Whether the group will make its activities accessible to Deaf colleagues, and if so, how.

g.     An indication of the group’s current status (e.g., how long it has existed, how often it meets) and the approximate number of members.

3. Hubs should, if possible, construct a website that can be linked to the ISGS page listing Hubs. All ISGS-Hub websites should include the following information, either on the homepage, or on linked pages easily visible on the Hub’s homepage.

    a.  Aims of the Hub, and if there are membership criteria, what they are.

b.  A list of its past and (possible) upcoming activities.

 c. Information on:
  i. The current coordinator(s).
  ii. Contact information so that prospective members can join.

 d. The Hub’s history (ideal, but optional).

 e. A link from the Hub’s homepage to the ISGS homepage.

4. The ISGS Board will decide on applications for affiliation. New applications may be submitted at any time via email to the President and the Secretary.

2. How to maintain affiliation

  1. To maintain affiliation, a group is merely required to file a brief yearly report with the ISGS Secretary, or in lieu of this, to keep an updated list of their most recent activities on their website.

  2. The yearly report (or updates on the website) should include the following:

a.     A list of the group’s current coordinators, along with their current affiliations and contact information.

b.     A brief summary of the group’s developments and activities for the year (a page is sufficient).

c.     Anything else the group’s coordinators care to submit.
